Community Outreach for Individuals

Here at LD:NorthEast, we know how important it is to live life to the full. Our Community Outreach activities support people who have a learning disability to do just that. We offer an alternative to the more traditional building based day services as we know this doesn’t work for everyone. Our support helps people to keep healthy and active, feel included in the community and spend time with friends.

  • Our sessions are a minimum of four hours

  • Our outreach staff will help with everyday tasks within the home and help to keep people safe out in the community

  • We can offer support with food shopping and help people to cook and eat well balanced meals

We also understand that at this time people may be feeling socially isolated. We can help by connecting people with friends, supporting people to go out for daily exercise and to join in with social activities when it is safe to do so.

“It has really changed my daughter’s life. Even though I have no family around here, I feel like I’ve got a family. If I’m ever stuck I know I can call and get support from them”
