David is leading the organisation as it looks to further improve the quality and reach of its services. He brings considerable senior management experience from the charity sector and has a successful track record in developing, as well as re-designing projects and services, working closely with customers, carers and staff teams in making sure that people get the best possible value and support. He also brings operational and business development knowledge and experience to the organisation, having worked across the voluntary, public and private sectors.
Jacqui joined LD:NorthEast in October 2012 to lead our Tomorrows project, having worked for the statutory and private sector in North Tyneside for over 30 years. Jacqui is now Operations Manager and oversees the delivery of all of our services and projects. She brings vast knowledge, experience and passion to oversee our work and ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Personalised Support Coordinator
Sharon leads on our Personalised Support Service, supporting adults and young people, designing and organising support to meet each of our customer’s needs. This can include support on an individual or group basis to access opportunities including social, leisure, learning, culture, health, wellbeing, employment and many more. She also oversees our short breaks / alternatives to respite services, making sure the people we support have choice and control over deciding where they want to go and what they want to do.
Amanda has been working at LD: NorthEast as Senior Support within the Personalised Support Team and has recently been promoted to Deputy Coordinator. Amanda is responsible for developing / organising our Short Breaks / Alternatives to Building Based Respite service. She helps people arrange bespoke holidays with 1:1 support or in a group with friends. Our short breaks are becoming very popular. Some examples of breaks people have experienced with us include:
- Home from home holidays in a cottage e.g. Rothbury
- Kielder activity holidays in a lodge at the Calvert Trust
- City breaks all over the country e.g. London, Edinburgh, Blackpool, York, Leeds
- Theatre trips in a city of your choice e.g. Birmingham, London
- Beach, seaside holidays to e.g. Torquay, Scarborough, Skegness
- Favourite destinations include Whitby, Butlins and coach trips across the country
Julie joined LD:NorthEast in November 2012 having previously worked in statutory services. Initially working on the Tomorrows project as a Case & Activity Worker, Julie now leads the project. Her creativity and energy have led to the project going from strength to strength as well as ensuring a number of LD:NorthEast events have been a massive success. Meet the Tomorrows Team
Early Years Coordinator
Gillian Co-ordinates our BBC Children In Need sponsored project, supporting pre-school children with disabilities and their parents / carers with play and development activities. She has supported families to get together, share experiences and to access activities that support their development.
Sue began her employment with the charity in 2001 which followed 3 years as a volunteer admin and support worker. She has worked as receptionist, administrator and finance co-ordinator. Combining these skills and experience helps perform her current role as Office Manager.
